Speech Services and home school

Question:  Is the school district required to provide speech-language services to students
                 who are homeschooled?

Answer:    If the parent withdraws the student from school and makes the choice to home
school the student, there is no obligation for the district to provide services. An
IEP meeting is not necessary.  Document that the student has withdrawn from
school and remove the student from the SpecialEducation caseload if the student
has an IEP. If the student re enrolls within triennial period, then you may resume
                serving.
